Welcome to Mental Health Resources, PLLC
in Memphis, Tennessee

We specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, alcohol, drugs and co-occurring disorders in an outpatient office environment.  Our intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) function as hospital diversion programs for those who are severely depressed, or struggling with alcohol and drug problems. If you are too depressed to go to work, or if alcohol or drugs are interfering with your relationships or job, or if you are “sick and tired” of being “sick and tired”, IOP might be for you.  IOPs meet up to three hours per day, three to five days per week, in effort to provide crisis intervention, stabilization and to prevent deterioration.

We are the only private practice in Memphis that offers evidence based IOPs for psychiatric and substance abuse related problems, that has published our treatment outcomes and client satisfaction scores in peer reviewed journals.  Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of psychologists, social workers, counselors and psychiatrists and we are skilled in a range of evidence based treatments.  We offer urgent/emergent appointments for crisis intervention on a daily basis. What is an Intensive Outpatient Program?

Intensive outpatient programs provide a multi-disciplinary treatment team consisting of a psychiatrist, counselor and / or social worker who provide a comprehensive approach to help you cope with your problems. These services are provided for less than 3 hours per day, up to five days per week. IOP involves group therapy, where you will learn to identify and cope with relationship problems, enhance your problem solving skills and learn new ways to adapt to your problems. Individual counseling and family or marital therapy, along with psychiatric medication management, may also occur. :: Read more

What is Evidence Based Treatment?

Mental health professionals use different treatment strategies to help people who are experiencing mental health problems. Some treatments have research support in the scientific literature and other treatments have less or even no research base supporting them. Therapists who use treatment approaches based on the scientific literature rely on evidence based practice. When the term evidence based practice is used, it typically means that the specific treatment has been closely studied, has shown to be an effective treatment, in repeated studies, and typically involves the use of treatment manuals. :: Read more

Services We Offer

Our mission is to provide professional care for your personal problems.

Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program

Our mental health IOP provides treatment for people suffering from moderate to severe levels of depression and anxiety that are interfering with their daily functioning, such as work performance, relationships, health, etc. Many of our patients are feeling helpless, hopeless and have thought of suicide.

Substance Abuse / Dual Diagnosis
Intensive Outpatient Program

The co-occurrence of substance use and psychiatric disorders is the norm, not the exception, for those addicted to alcohol and / or drugs. In fact, psychological research has shown that people exposed to stress are more likely to engage in drug and alcohol abuse, continue using, or to experience a relapse. This means that for a successful recovery, both the addiction and the mental health issues must be adequately treated.
